I was looking for an animal adventure and found myself at Whipsnade Zoo. Located in 600 acres of countryside overlooking the beautiful Chiltern Downs, it’s the UK’s biggest zoo and home to thousands of animals. There is sure to be plenty to admire!

It was a magical journey of exploration that brought me up close and personal with an array of creatures from all four corners of the globe! I wandered among more than three thousand animals, encountering plenty of friendly Wallabies joyfully hopping about. To my delight there were also Muntjac deer leisurely roaming around - truly an unforgettable experience! - I truly felt like I had stepped into another world. There are majestic lions and giraffes to playful meerkats and cheeky monkeys, this zoo is full of incredible sights that kept me entertained for hours. Plus, there are plenty of interactive experiences available such as animal encounters and keeper talks, I even took a steam train ride through Asia! And let's not forget the Butterfly house with hundreds of butterflies flying all around giving a very majestic vibe.

The park is also great for kids! Children can explore the play area or take part in fun activities such as face painting and arts & crafts workshops. There are even special events throughout the year to keep your littles busy! Plus, if your little ones get tired during your visit, they can relax in one of our many picnic spots while taking in the stunning views. There are several restaurants throughout the park to get a meal in.

Whipsnade Zoo has something for everyone—from young children to adults alike—so why not come along and explore? With a wide range of interactive experiences, wildlife encounters and fun activities on offer every day, it’ll be a day out that you won’t forget anytime soon! So don't forget to put this on your bucket list of fun places to visit.

She Spins a web so fine,

The Cobs she did twine,

With all of her skill and grace,

Her artistry wins her fame in this place.

In the icy domain of snow,

The Cobs has no fear to show,

Bravely she weaves and wraps up tight,

Forming a shelter for those of night.

No one can match her speed and skill,

Beautiful webs made with great will,

Her delicate touch is oh so light,

Capturing prey day or night.

The Spider's Cob is wise and smart,

It's why she's surviving during each winter's start.

So when the cold comes around again,

A spider's Cobweb will be found till the end!
